چکیده

Finite length of a one channel wire results in crossover from a Tomonaga-Luttinger to Fermi liquid behavior with lowering energy scale. In condition that voltage drop (V) mostly occurs across a tunnel barrier inside the wire we found coefficients of temperature/voltage expansion of low energy conduc-tance as a function of constant of interaction, right and left traversal times. At higher voltage the finite length contribution exhibits oscillations related to both traversal times and becomes a slowly decaying correction to the scale-invariant V 1/g−1 dependence of the conductance.

Low voltage transport through a tunneling barrier in Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid constriction

As voltage decreases d.c. condctivity of a Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid wire collapses to a small value determined by the length of the wire and its contacts with the leads. In condition that voltage drop (V ) mostly occurs across a tunnel barrier inside the wire the tunneling density of states and, hence, the differential conductivity are shown to exhibit an interference structure resulted from t...

Coherent transport through a quantum dot in a strong magnetic field

I discuss recent work on the phase of the transmission coefficient for tunneling through a quantum dot in the quantum Hall effect regime. The effects of electron—electron interaction on this phase is investigated with the use of finite-size bosonization techniques combined with perturbation theory resummation. New non-Fermi-liquid phenomena are predicted in the fractional quantum Hall regime th...

Transport through a double barrier in Large Radius Carbon Nanotubes in the presence of a transverse magnetic field

We discuss the Luttinger Liquid behaviour of Large Radius Carbon Nanotube e.g. the Multi Wall ones (MWNT), under the action of a transverse magnetic field B. Our results imply a reduction with B in the value of the bulk critical exponent, αbulk, for the tunneling density of states, which is in agreement with that observed in transport experiments. Then, the problem of the transport through a Qu...

One-dimensional fermions with neither Luttinger-liquid nor Fermi-liquid behavior.

It is well known that, generically, one-dimensional interacting fermions cannot be described in terms of a Fermi liquid. Instead, they present a different phenomenology, that of a Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid: the Landau quasiparticles are ill defined, and the fermion occupation number is continuous at the Fermi energy. We demonstrate that suitable fine tuning of the interaction between fermions c...
